Equine photography like any other branch of sports photography requires not only quick reflexes but also a good sense of anticipation.  Knowing from experience what is likely to happen next and putting yourself in the right place at the right time to catch the action is the key to success.

As a dressage rider for many years Michael's knowledge of the horse, how it moves and how it behaves has given him a considerable advantage when it comes to photographing horses.   When he was commissioned to cover an international horse show in Portugal, it was Michael who not only got the best shots but also lead the way in finding the best vantage points whilst the other professionals followed him around.
